DOFCompute Free app for iPhone and iPad

DOFCompute Free is a depth of field calculator. Subject distance, fStop, and focal length may be entered by slider or keyboard. Subject distance may be entered in either English or Metric. Pupil magnification may be entered as an optional input value. Conversion between English and Metric for subject distance and DOF is immediate, at the press of a button.

Hyperfocal distance, focal distance range, magnification, and width and height of focal field at the focal distance are computed along with DOF.

A pop-up calculator is provided to assist with manual calculations.

A "pro" version is available as an in-app purchase. The new user has three free trials available for trying out the pro version. In contrast with the free version, the pro version will not just compute depth-of-field, it will also solve for subject distance, fStop, or focal length, using the depth of field as an input value. In addition to some interface enhancements, a teleconverter and/or an extension tube may be defined as input values. Both versions use the same "exact" forms of standard optical equations, allowing for relatively accurate and consistent results for all combinations of equipment. There are also no ads in the pro version.
